At Least You Have Your Personality.....

ISFP
In class the week we've been taking online test to evaluate our personalities. The type I received was an ISFP; Introverted, Sensing,  Feeling, and Perceiving. Most of my results were in the 20%, but the Sensing category was only 3% over Intuition.

ISFP's are described as are ones who are flexible, spontaneous, and low-key, yet keep to themselves.
i think a lot of the information applies to me, for example how how i am deeply passionate about my own project. I'm definetly not a perfectionist, I just like work to turn out good. I believe there is a big difference. A perfectionist looks for the approval of others, and I can confirm the me, myself, only need my own opinion (most of the time).
as the ISFP's are described as artists, I agree with the label. I think of myself as very creative, but also reserved and a little weird compared to everyone else.

Bouncing Around Animation

                 Bouncing Around Animation

The first project we did in animation was the the bouncing ball. We demonstrated basic techniques of animation such as squash and stretch.

Squash and stretch is used when then the ball falls and hits the ground. the ball's shape stretches as it speeds up, and squashes as it's forced to the ground.

Another rule of animation we learned in order to complete this project was ease in, ease out. It explains how and object enter the frame slowly, speeds in the middle, and then slower towards the end.  we showed this in our animations by putting multiple frames near the the beginning, less in the middle to duplicate speed, and then more frames ending to slow it down.

Social Media and College

The article we read yesterday in class talked about how colleges may second guess applicants by the content on their social media, that how students acted online would reflect their notability for the university. also if the user posted material not suitable for the professor's liking, would not be admitted to the college.

I personally do not agree with this strategy, as if the essay and interview process wasn't enough, now they've gone to internet stalking. If Universities are so unsatisfied with their admittance process, then maybe they'd think to change it. Many young people are using social media sites and apps, and I think many things associated to them could be taken the wrong way.

for example, many teens and young adults use language on social media, to their friends mostly- or just to be funny and get a laugh. with the small exception of people who mis-use these apps to harm others and post questionable things, most are just trying to have fun. My instagram is full of dumb memes, and my twitter is filled with weird sarcastic remarks.
" I was just thinking how i could never narsacist because I'm just to good for that." ,I put on my twitter trying entertain my followers. But from a college view point this could be concerning. I hinted at having a real mental illness, and I sound like crazy self- centered weirdo, as they migh
t see.

I believe that this tactic colleges use for admittance is unfair and an invasion of privacy.  If they were looking for good facts about me and my accomplishments, honestly, I'd recommend my mom's facebook. She's the one posts on how i made the Academy orchestra or my brother got a 34 or something on the ACT. it almost seems as if they're looking for a reason to deny the students.

I hope colleges chose not to use this tactics on whether they admit students or not, in the future i think they should change the admittance process.

Photoshop project

This photoshop project was my first experience with the program. the first one with the school and the compass was the hardest for me.  At first the changing pixels to percent confused me, and I had trouble getting the compass image to the school. the font, i feel, was the easy part. after lots of trial and error, mostly error, I had my ending result which I was happen to have finished.  This taught me the basics of photoshop. I've become comfortable with opacity and the text tool as well as having more than image to work with.

The Butterfly project was my favorite. we used the magic wand tool, and I think that since I was aloud to change the colors, that it gave me a lot more flexibility. the rules were not as strict and i actually enjoyed using the magic wand tool. i thought the use of the clone tool was cool. i like the magic wand select because i feel like that something i easily understand an that i think i will use for any photoshop project i do.

This project  was the one i spent the most time on. the type mask kept getting in the wrong part of the picture. i was getting confused about the different layers and i had trouble finding the gradient. Once again a lot of trial and error was used, in the process of trying new things I accidentally changed the background to blue, as seen in the picture.  i found also why working on this project that if you type tool you need in the "help" box, it would usually come up.

in this project I learned how to use the magnetic lasso tool. in order get the raven head it need to cut out of it's original image with precision.  it was weird at first and it took me couple tries before i could do it myself.

Logo project

This is my personal logo. At first I experimented with many ides. i wanted to include music became my life revolves very much around my viola many of the logos i tried had rainbow color, a lot for the eye to handle.  Then i went for simple black logo, And slowly it became The Logo shown on the screen. The font i used was PT Serif.  I was drawn to it because the serifs on the sides reminded me of the curves on a viola. I also used the white selector tool to change the serifs to my liking. Once I decided on the main part of my logo, I tried adding shapes around it. the square tended to lead the eye away from the actually logo. and the circle was an un needed, pointless application.  I decided on the ring around the logo, to give it an open accepting look. I am happy with out come of my logo. I wish  I wouldn't have put it only in black and white tones, i'm sure there are many things that i can improve.
